Injury accident involving a pedestrian reported at East 5th Avenue & East Stetson Drive in Scottsdale, AZ.
[Update: 12:52 PM MST] SPD officers responded to a vehicle vs. pedestrian hit and run collision at the intersection of 5th Ave and Stetson at 3:20 AM this morning.
Thus far in the investigation it has been determined that a female subject was struck by a vehicle as she attempted to cross southbound at the intersection. The driver of the vehicle attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended a short time later. The female pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious ,but non- life threatening injuries .The intersection was closed for approximately five hours as the on- scene investigation was completed. Names of the involved parties are not being released at this time as the investigation continues. Alcohol impairment does appear to be a factor in the collision, according to Kevin Watts, public information officer for the Scottsdale Police Department.
