More than 5,000 are without power in Heber-Overgaard and Linden

A major power outage has knocked out electricity Sunday to more than 5 thousand people in northeastern Arizona.

According to Navopache Electric Cooperative, the outage is affecting 5,565 customers in Heber-Overgaard and 120 in Linden.

Navopache Electric is working on the transformer that is causing power outages in the area.

At this time, it is unknown as to when power will be restored. Update: The estimated restoration time, according to 593info.org, is around 2:00 a.m.

Best Western Sawmill Inn in Heber has rooms available. No power. Hotel clerk told me that the power went out this afternoon.

The Heber-Overgaard Fire Station is open tonight as a place of refuge if you need heat. The station has emergency power, according to information posted on www.hofdaz.com.
