Stayed overnight at Kachina Lodge. Had an excellent dinner and service at El Tovar! Almost got attacked by an elk in front of El Tovar - it did not like its picture taken!!
Breakfast at El Tovar bright and early when they opened this am. Again excellent service and food.
Started the hike this morning at 7:45 am and parked near the South Kaibab trailhead. Saw a bighorn sheep who staked control of part of South Kaibab and wouldn't move for a few minutes! Crossed Black Bridge and then went back up South Kaibab trail. Super Grand Canyon hiker: my brother finished 2 hours before me. Overcast skies all day. In the afternoon the storm front moved in with very cold high winds!
